Get ready! From 13th to 21st September, the North East of Scotland will once again burst into colour, creativity and conversation as North East Open Studios returns.

This is your chance to explore hidden studios, meet inspiring artists and makers, and experience the magic of creativity behind the scenes. From coastal towns to countryside corners, over 300 artists, designers and craftspeople will be throwing open their doors and welcoming you in.

Whether you're planning a day trip, a weekend wander or a full week of artistic discovery, now is the time to gather your maps, circle your favourites and build your NEOS route. Our new-look directory will be rolling out soon and our social media campaign is well underway - full of sneak peeks, artist features and studio stories to help you plan your adventure.

Painty KT got married and she met her new hubby at NEOS! Here's their story... |

Back in 2018, on the very first day of NEOS, David was the first visitor to arrive at an artist's studio. He bought a painting - to the artist’s surprise - and invited her to see it in its new home.
It turned out he lived on the very street she grew up on. She thought he was just being polite… but her mum whispered, “He totally fancies you!”

Weeks later, she took him up on his offer to visit. They hit it off, and the rest is history. |
Every NEOS since has felt like an anniversary.
This April, they tied the knot at the beautiful Elsick House in a sunlit garden ceremony surrounded by friends, family and a few fellow artists from their time at Gray’s School of Art. NEOS didn’t just connect them through art - it connected them for life. |
