Artist statement
I work to preserve traditional textile skills, crochet, knitting and felting and combine them with painting, drawing and sculpture.
Colour is immensely important to me as a method of communication, drawing the viewer in. Perhaps while they are there they will find a space for themselves.
Commissions undertaken.
Workshops soon to be launched.
Extended Bio
I am a mixed media Artist with an interest in preserving heritage crafts and skills, such as knitting, felting and crochet. I have a deep interest in Nature and the human form and often depict them in my work.
I create work that can be viewed in a gallery setting and work that can be worn, I seek to blur the line between Craft and Art. I become deeply invested in creating a worn piece for a particular person, I love it when I create the perfect practical, yet beautiful piece.
I use painting, drawing, and sculpture, combining these to create work that does not fit within the simple boundaries offered by a single discipline.
I teach these skills to help preserve them and also to unleash the creative potential of learners. Potential clients can contact me via my Instagram profile, Facebook page, phone number or email.
