Artist statement

This year I’m delighted to have on show some new hand built ceramics suitable for the garden, alongside some of my favourites such as the birdbaths, poppyseed heads and the totems with hares and birds. Plus an array of decorative homewares including quirky candlesticks and vases. All designed and created here in my garden studio.

Extended Bio

Ellacey Ceramics by Lois Carson Lois is a ceramic artist based in rural Aberdeenshire, working from her garden studio. Here she hand builds whimsical, functional and sculptural creations for the home and garden. Carved, sculpted and glazed , her pieces range from the traditionally functional to the creatively embellished object d’art, often with a whimsical and quirky twist. All produced with joy and an acute attention to detail which is reflected in each uniquely finished piece. Lois is mainly inspired by nature, she creates work that reflects both her love of flora and fauna, especially birds and flowers. Utilising her passion for making she combines colour, texture, design and form to create an ever evolving range of ceramic art. Hand building with no boundaries.
