At the town hall and main crossroads in the village, turn on to Bridge Street so that the chemist is on your left. Follow the road until you come to a hard right, the house is on Burnshangie Road straight ahead. We are the only new build on the left of the road. My studio is above the garage, with a side entrance to the left.

Artist statement
I create work that I hope makes people smile and evokes a memory; I love bright, bold colour and use this to bring my linear drawings or photographs to life. The surrounding sea and landscapes of the northeast are my main inspiration. I typically work with silk screen and risograph printing techniques, which perfectly suit my illustrative work style.
Extended Bio
Elaine Thomson is a Scottish artist focusing on drawing and printmaking. She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2003 and worked as a printmaker until 2008 before shifting her focus to running Junction Arts, a gallery and creative space in Aberdeen. In 2019, she made the significant decision to return to her creative practice, closing the physical gallery while retaining the business name.
Now working from her home studio in northeast Scotland, Elaine is passionate about creating art that evokes emotion, nostalgia, and joy. Her work is characterized by bold, vibrant colours that bring her line drawings and photographic compositions to life. Inspired by the coastal and rural landscapes of the region, she primarily works with silkscreen and risograph printing techniques—both of which complement her distinctive illustrative style.
Elaine’s work is a celebration of place, memory, and the power of colour, aiming to connect with viewers on a personal and emotional level.
