Artist statement
I love working with many different mediums. I am inspired by the natural world around me. My work includes textiles, embroidery, patchwork, needle felting, painting and resin. I think everyday items should look lovely too, so as well as wall art, I make journal covers, patchwork bags, jewellery and other small gifts.

Miriam Stubbs
I have been interested in all sorts of arts and crafts my whole life. I experiment with different techniques across a broad spectrum of media to find my own ways of expressing my imagination. I love to combine techniques from different disciplines to create original artworks and items that are useful in everyday life.
My painted art work includes watercolour, acrylic and oil based mediums. I love to paint landscapes, seascapes and wildlife, primarily with watercolour and brusho. When in a more abstract frame of mind, I use acrylics and oils for fluid pours.
I also love working with textiles. I use wool roving and fibres to "paint" pictures by needlefelting and wet felting. With fabrics I create wall hangings, sometimes dying and painting the fabric to get the right colour or texture required, or adding embroidery and beading to create details.
Fabrics also allow me to make patchwork bags and other items that look pretty but are useful too.
I have enjoyed working with resin which I have used in pictures and to make jewellery and small gifts.
I never know what will come next, but I do know that art and craft will always inspire me and make me happy.
