Extended Bio

I am a ceramicist working mainly in porcelain and stoneware from my Wildcat Pottery Byre Studio and Workshop just outside Grantown on Spey. Pieces are wheel thrown and handbuilt using nature inspired texture and colours from the forests, moors and local coastlines. I particularly like the use of transparent glazes for textured and sea inspired pieces and experimenting with glaze combinations on functional earthy stoneware. As a former Speech and Language Therapist, I have been exploring a different form of communication and finding a new voice through clay for the last 15 years - continuously learning and adapting on my journey with glazing techniques and alternative firing methods. A new byre renovation at my home just outside Grantown on Spey, has given me the potential to showcase pieces in a ‘real life’ setting where visitors can feel at home and experience my ceramics in a friendly relaxed environment.
